If you’re anything like us, food is one of the most important things when you’re on vacation (or anytime really)! Where to get it, what the choices are, and what cooking facilities are available – all very good information to have. So we wanted to lay out all the food options for guests at The Range.
This information is especially important now while COVID-19 restrictions are in place. We will update this post as changes occur to The Range’s food offerings and the local businesses. If you have a booking we will update you directly, otherwise check back here for updates.
When You Feel Like a Snack or a Meal at The Range
Our restaurant and bar are now up and running! We offer snacks and light meals from our restaurant – order online and we’ll deliver to your site. And we are happy to introduce Chef Lucy’s special Saturday night dinners! Cooking over our custom 7-foot fire pit grill with real mesquite hardwood, Chef Lucy has created delicious meals of Wagyu steak, grilled chicken, vegetarian medley and two kids options. These meals are pre-ordered and served in the restaurant in our open-air barn every Saturday night.
At our custom converted 1959 Airstream bar, we have a selection of wine, Texas beers and other beverages. These drinks are also available for purchase online and delivery to your site.
And we love savory and sweet snacks so we offer a selection of treats available for purchase in our store when you need just a little something. You can browse the options online (and have them delivered to your site!) or in person in the store.
When You Want to Cook
If you love whipping up meals, we offer a microwave and a charcoal Weber grill in every trailer. There are no working stoves or ovens inside the trailers. (For a detailed list of the kitchen supplies in our trailers, check out this blog post.)
We don’t provide charcoal grills at our open sites, due to feedback that most trailer owners prefer to use their own – but if you’re at an open site and need a grill, let us know!
We have mini refrigerators in every trailer, so you can bring your own food or you can purchase food items from local grocery stores. For ease and to guarantee you find what you want, we recommend bringing groceries with you. The Bristol General Store sells essentials and practices social distancing and safety measures. Additionally the local HEB store is less than 20 minutes away and offers curbside pickup and Shipt delivery. (Please note: curbside and Shipt require advance booking.)
When You Want to Eat Out On The Town
While going out to eat is not always possible right now due to COVID-19 restrictions, plenty of local businesses are offering takeaway food and meals – and some offer outdoor dining.
The Bristol General Store is a hidden gem – or maybe not so hidden given the amount of media attention it’s sushi has received! Stop in for what many people have called the best sushi they’ve ever eaten, and very, very good fried rice too. Wildflower Cafe has excellent lunch options – their tuna melt is a personal favorite. Zagalas has excellent pizza and pasta. The Kolache Depot Bakery makes delicious kolaches and has a drive through! El Mexicano Grille offers solid Mexican food – the enchiladas are a personal favorite.
There are also many drive through / fast food options available not too far away, including Chick-Fil-A and Buc-ee’s.
There is no shortage of delicious options at and around The Range! Stay tuned for more information as The Range’s restaurant and bar expands.
